Bio
Evan Gotlob, a Practice Leader for our White Collar Crime, Criminal Defense and Government Investigations Practice Group, is a nationally recognized former prosecutor with almost 20 years experience as a state and federal prosecutor. He represents organizations and individuals in a wide variety of high stakes government and internal investigations, hearings, administrative actions, trials and enforcement proceedings brought by federal and state government agencies, including in the financial services, securities, healthcare, life sciences, and higher education industries.
During his time as a prosecutor, Evan won The United States Department of Justice Director’s Award for outstanding performance as a prosecutor in the first of its kind prosecution of a doctor prescribing opioids that led to the death of a patient. During his 14 years as a prosecutor, Evan prosecuted a variety of financial crimes, public corruption, healthcare fraud, tax fraud, and violent crimes during his time with the DOJ.
Evan represents companies, boards, universities, nonprofits, and individuals in highly complex and sensitive internal and government investigations, including matters related to the Anti-Kickback Statute, False Claims Act (FCA), Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA), Securities And Exchange Commission (SEC) matters and related Department of Justice, State Attorney General and local District Attorney’s Office investigations, among others. Evan has extensive experience in the healthcare field, representing individuals and organizations in FCA investigations in multiple districts throughout the country.
Additionally, Evan has been involved in multiple labor and employment investigations throughout the country on both the corporate and individual side concerning a variety of workplace violations.
Finally, Evan has experience working with various universities on internal investigations, Title IX issues, NIL and sexual assault allegations.
Prior Experience
In addition to his experience as a federal and state prosecutor, Evan has worked at a national, Philadelphia-based law firm and for an entrepreneurial and business-focused law firm headquartered in New York. Prior to his law career, Evan earned an MBA, worked on Wall Street and was the chief business strategist at the largest credit union in New York.

- Represented multiple whistleblowers on a multimillion-dollar False Claims Act fraud inquiry against a large pharmaceutical company.
- Represented approximately 100 officers against an inmate excessive use of force investigation and civil complaint.
- Worked as a court appointed monitor for a large pharmaceutical company ordered to comply with ongoing Attorney General Investigations.
- Successfully defended international company facing employment discrimination and False Claims Act allegations, with those claims being dismissed.
