Bio
David R. Shaheen is a Partner in the firm’s Business Litigation & Alternative Dispute Resolution Practice Group. David’s practice focuses on complex litigation, high stakes commercial disputes, business torts, contract litigation, regulatory matters, and risk management strategies. He represented large-scale international and national corporations, high-profile government clients, athletes, and individuals in complex litigation matters across a broad range of industries.
In addition to serving as litigation counsel, David regularly acts as Private Counsel, General Counsel and strategic legal advisor for businesses, providing guidance on litigation strategy, emerging trend developments, risk management, corporate governance, and business operations. His proactive approach helps clients navigate legal challenges while supporting long-term business objectives.
David has broad courtroom experience, having tried numerous cases to verdict, and secured millions of dollars in jury awards and settlements on behalf of his clients.
Prior Experience
Before joining DarrowEverett, David was a Department Group Leader at a national law firm with offices throughout the country. In that role, he managed multiple litigation and pre-litigation departments, while also serving as Private and General Counsel to national and international corporations and government entities.
David also served the community at the Broward County State Attorney’s Office where he tried and prosecuted multiple criminal matters, gaining significant courtroom and trial experience.
During law school, David served as both a Teaching Assistant and Researching Assistant for several professors. He earned membership on his school’s Law Review, Moot Court, and Trial Team, competing at the national level while graduating with summa cum laude honors.
During his undergraduate years at Villanova University, David was a four-year captain of the school’s tennis team, playing first singles and first doubles, while earning Big East All-Academic Honors each year.
