General Summary

DarrowEverett LLP is looking for a Commercial Real Estate Associate with immediate availability. The candidate must have excellent communication and administrative skills, be highly organized and detail-oriented, be able to multitask without sacrificing efficiency, be responsible, and be able to represent the firm, always, in ways that enhance its reputation.

Role & Responsibilities

  • 2-5 years of continuous, specific, and verifiable real estate experience in a large (50+) attorney law firm
  • Strong drafting skills are essential. In-depth experience drafting a variety of leases, from both a landlord’s and tenant’s perspective, as well as property acquisition and sale documents, and ancillary agreements, is required.
  • Conduct due diligence reviews, including title, survey, zoning, environmental, lease reviews, etc.
  • Prepare closing documents, including estoppels, deeds, SNDAs, FIRPTA certificates, bringdown certificates and the like.
  • Review commercial real estate documents and provide feedback.
  • Draft easements, ECCRs, restrictive covenants and other similar-type documents encumbering title.
  • Analyze and monitor deadlines, including the preparation of critical dates schedules, and strictly monitor and calendar all relevant deadlines.
  • Monitor contingencies, review, and prepare title objections, survey and environmental reviews, closing documents and wire transfers.
  • Review title policies and ALTA surveys for conformance.
  • Conduct closings, including review and advise clients on settlement statements, and complete post-closing documentation and administration.
  • Draft correspondence on behalf of landlords to commercial tenants’ management and counsel relating to claims, defenses, and other disputes arising under lease agreements.
  • Provide aid to senior level attorneys, senior paralegals and staff members, review and preparation of documents, reports and correspondence.
  • Effectively organize and maintain client files.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and J.D. Degree
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of the laws and rules, as well as state and federal court procedures, forms, deadlines, filing requirements and portals
  • Ability to organize factual and legal data into clear and logical arguments.
  • Ability to handle sensitive matters on a confidential basis.
  • Licensed to practice law and in good standing in at least one of the following states: MA, RI, NY, NC, SC, or FL
  • A high degree of initiative, mature judgment, and discretion.
  • Organization and time management skills.
