Representative Matters in Massachusetts

We secured class certification in the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts in litigation asserting violations of the Massachusetts Wage Act arising from National Grid’s alleged company-wide payroll policy affecting salaried employees. The certified class includes more than 100 employees, with treble damages under the Wage Act at issue. The court determined that common issues predominate in challenging an asserted uniform payroll practice applied across the employer’s Massachusetts workforce. With certification granted, the matter will proceed through class notice and continued pretrial proceedings.

We negotiated the sale of 71.7 megawatts of renewable energy projects, including mechanisms for joint efforts to ensure safe harbor of projects for federal tax purposes.

In a complex real estate partition and partnership dispute, we secured a full-value buyout for our client through strategic negotiation. By resolving the matter pre-litigation, we delivered the client’s desired financial outcome while avoiding the cost, delay, and risk of court proceedings.
